POTQ (July-Sept 2010): Lim Wei Yang

Player Of The Quarter

July – Sept 2010

Lim Wei Yang
In a dicey 2010 season for Schwarz Star’s D2D team, Wei Yang stood out with peerless display of his passion and commitment to football and SS.
Making interceptions and tackling expected from being a defender, Wei Yang was ever present in the team and was a constant inspiration to his teammates. While his excellence in football-ing communication may not have been fully grasped or appreciated by less “knowing” players, that didn’t stop him from expressing his leadership for the team.
No doubt there are flaws in his technique and many would debate Wei Yang’s ability to juggle the ball or his inability to differentiate his standing foot from his kicking foot. However this appreciation of a player does not necessarily only come from one’s technical ability, but also from one’s commitment and inspiration to another player.
For his commitment and steadfastness in believing in his teammates, Wei Yang is the Player Of The Quarter July – Sept 2010.
Our best wishes to Wei Yang. May he find the innermost joy of scoring a goal one day, even if it is with his standing foot.
This is Wei Yang’s first POTQ award.
