Attention all SSFC players

Coming 27th Dec (Saturday) 3pm at Dunearn Secondary School will be our very own Soccer Carnival. All players will be presented their new kit for 2009-2011. Future plans and news of the club will also be released on that day.

There will be a Chrismas gift exchange, players are to bring a gift worth no more then $10. We will conduct a random pick or ballot to see who gets what. Though it is not compulsary but all is encouraged to participate.

We will be having our internal friendly match among our players. To add some spice, it will be Manchester United Fan Club vs Rest of The World. All players is encouraged to don their favourite club’s jersey to the ground, we might even be playing the game with it.

Don’t let me down devils, i’m hoping to see a field of red on that day.

Schwarzians started to gather and assembled at the field and with the dark clouds looming..it didnt look good.

The field warden didnt allow play to start as it was drizzling and both teams were already warming up…

But play resumed and with the sky clearing up…Schwarz Star FC was determined to snatch a win from MYFC..Schwarz Star had its 1st target on goal by the 4th minute stating their intent for a win..

The red tide swarmed the opponent’s goal and the recurring  problem of Schwarz Star finishing the game off by taking its opportunites will come back to haunt them

A through ball from Faisal..to Siva whoom cooly slotted the ball into goal..a sublime finish…

The final whistle blew and the Red army was in control…

however..the 2nd half was different as MYFC started stamping their authority in the middle of the park..their reward came when on the 70th minute when a cross came in and mis-communication between Alfie and Leonie allowed Leonie to head into his own goal..

Both teams tried to carve out the winning goal and the draw was the final result…

A tale of 2 halves…

This draw made MYFC the Champions for the Schwarz Star Invitational league 2008…

Schwarz Star FC v Kallang Roar FC

Match Report

Schwarz Star FC 8 ¨C 1 Kallang Roar FC

Woodlands Ring Secondary School
Saturday, November 29th, 3 pm

Under a scorching sun, SSFC took to the pitch under the lead of the exciting young Samuel. The heat was on for the Super Falcons as they had to shake off the stigma of going win-less for a month. Thirsting for victory, the boys in red pressed fast right from the whistle go. Early pressure paid dividends as Wesley, in an attacking midfield position, and target men Siva combined to probe the opponent¡¯s defence resulting in 3 goals within the 1st half.

Relentlessly pursuing balls swung in, Wesley got his just reward as he pounced on an insecure catch, steering the ball in. 1 ¨C 0. Wesley celebrates like a soaring falcon as he grabs one to his cause. Winger Syafiq bagged his with a lofted ball from the sides, just over the reach of the outstretched keeper. Arguably, a cheeky goal with critics claiming calls of Taiko. But SSFC was undoubtedly 2 goals up. Not contented to be outshone, Siva did well to lead the line and he marked his name on the score sheet, bursting through the left channel and slotting home.

Perhaps the coach of SSFC was clairvoyant. His decision to move from the sideline to his team¡¯s goal line was, grudgingly warranted as he viewed in horror ¨C just inches away – his charges conceding a needless goal. A wild swing of the leg through thin air as his defender made a mess of the clearance, and with a hapless poke of the ball, Kallang Roar got one back. An absolute head-hide-in-the-ground shameful moment.

SSFC begin the second half with some changes. Kok Hui and Stan taking up wide positions while Sanjay partnered the-man-with-the-new-hairdo; Thava and Ishak replacing Leonie and Amir respectively in the backline.

Strutting their style in the middle, Rahzmy and Samuel were enjoying themselves as they sought to dazzle on the ball. The former sidestepped his way into space, striking firmly the 4th goal in.

Goals were coming fast and images of how they were scored were all a blur. But suffice to say, Siva continued his rich vein of form, rounding up his hat trick with two neatly placed goals. A long throw from Samuel on the left, saw the ball evade everyone in the 6-yard, take one bounce, homing in for the forehead of flamboyant Sanjay, who was left with the enviable task of guiding the ball in. To wrap up his laudable achievement as debut match captain, Samuel driving the 8th in from outside the box.

Though a healthy score line, sources in the after-match talk revealed that Coach KK was not exactly overjoyed at the outcome. There were mentions of making ‘Disney character (Mic***)’ and something about digression. (regression?)

Smiles galore in the team but with grittier opponents lined up, its up to the Super Falcons to ride the heady high winds of their form, or careen and crush into a death spiral.
