However with the Falcons trailing 1-0 when the half time whistle blew…the weather turnt nasty and the match was stopped. In accordance to the rules due to the result being 1-0 when the referee blew for half time it was taken to be the final score..hence ending the match with a 1-0 loss due to technical default to Schwarz Star FC..

Responsibility and Accountability

Many players have been asking, what it takes to represent SS in the league.
For those who are wondering still, responsibility and accountability are 2 BIG words that deserve some mentioning.

Responsibility and Accountability makes up 90% of the reason why one is selected in the 16+4 to represent SSFC

What is Responsibility?

Take a few moments to understand that big word in context vis-a-vis SSFC

Is responsibility about informing your whereabouts, informing why you are late, trying to be trap the ball better, explaning why you didn’t bring your shin pads or lost your jersey?

That is only about 10% correct.

Responsibility … is knowing that other players/supporters have their success and hopes for a better day, pin onto your shoulder.

Accountability … is knowing that when you walk off the pitch, you know that you didn’t fail them.

If I can see that in the eyes of my players, he will definitely get the chance down the line to REPRESENT SSFC in the league.

To consistently represent SSFC, don’t let me feel that another player can do a better job than you out on the ptich. However there is a flaw in this sentence, b’cos while I might have covered 2 eyes, there is another bigger eye watching.
Thus the proper sentencing shd be, don’t let 20 other SS players feel that they can do a better job than you.

If you allow other players to feel that he can do a better job than you, they will not hesitate to grab that place from you.

Remember SS is not like the other teams in the league or some other void deck teams that you used to play with. SS does not have problems with attendence nor ability. If one doesn’t turn up for training on a Sunday, there are 20 others who will do.

If one doesn’t want to have that heavy responsibility of representing SS in the league, there are another 20 who want to.
If one doesn’t want to keep himself fit and healthy, nor doesn’t feel the need to improve his personal technique and skills, nor doesn’t feel the need to want to increase his understanding of tactics and the SS method of winning, there are another 20 others who want to.
And if one feels that 20 others aren’t better players then himself, there will be another 20 future other players who hasn’t joined SS that will also take over this 20.
Cos your coach and manager are constantly on the look out for better players to sign onto SS 9ner programme.

To make it even more practical and understandable, if a striker doesn’t score, there are many other strikers who will want to.
If a defender doesn’t know how to tackle or sweep the danger away, there are many other defenders who will want to.
If a midfielder doesn’t link up play, guess what? There are others who will want to.

The responsible will know that turning up on a Saturday league match means something to himself and to many others.
That is being responsible. And that is what will probably give you the edge over the 20 other players eyeing your position.

If you understand what being responsible and accountable is, it will make you the better player that you always wanted to be… When you know that walking onto the pitch is no longer just about yourself. You represent the passion and emotions of many other people out there, who are watching you.

Notice that in SSFC, that there are actually spectators who come to watch you, and you have to be accountable to them all, cos they depend on you, to have a better weekend.

Taufiq

Being a defender is Taufiq’s responsibility, being a footballer is Taufiq’s talent.

I can never find an ounce of desire to even want to substitute Taufiq from any match, unless he hurts himself, which he has done many times putting his body on the line to defend SS’s cause. I have played Taufiq from whistle to whistle in almost all the matches that he has featured in. And I don’t think anyone can begrudge him his playing time.

Clearances, headers, sweeping, tackling and scoring the occasional goal. Taufiq does it all, consistently.

And for his goals, consistency and competency, Taufiq is POTQ Jan-Mar 2009

Schwarz Star faced EFL Premier Division team Credit Suisse for the 1st time. Schwarz Star is having a healthy selection of players from – Satnam, Ishak, Amir, Halim, Brandon, Leonie, Weiyang, Remi, RongShan, Norman, Chris, Ernest, Jack, Leon, Yen, Kevin, Nasri, Wesley and Rafiq. Yun is taking charge of the game as assigned by Coach Kenneth. Senior players Jason, Alfie, Reggie and Whye Ming came down to give thier absolute support.

In the 1st half, Schwarz Star were holding the game well from the back. GK Wesley had a few brilliant saves to deny the opponents from scoring, Defenders kept their line. Schwars Star just lacks the catalyst to push for attacks. Ended the 1st half goalless.

In the 2nd half, the intensity of the game remains unchanged. Kevin tried some long shots but was not enough to test the keeper. Around the 58th min, Schwarz Star were 1-0 down from a corner where a Credit Suisse player brilliantly chested the ball and volley it pass Rafiq’s hands.

Schwars Star morale was still up and were trying to bring the game back. The addition of Yun in the final 20mins added sparks for the team. Schwarz Star started its attacking flow and have multiple shots but none were converted. Young Star Ernest had some brilliant display of skills down the right flank playing out Suisse’s defenders which were twice the size of him. Ernest had a chance near the final minutes but it went over the crossbar.

FT Results: Schwarz Star 0-1 Credit Suisse

Siva
The top of our diamond has worked harded and contributed to the team in many ways. Most notably of cos are his goals. Top scoring for the team after a short drought, Siva has started to bang in the goals again.
He has captained the team a couple of times and even been tasked to play in CB. This switch he has done admirably and has given an added dimension to his game. This exposure will definitely grow and develop his eye for the game.

Schwarz Star FC VS Rebels United (8/3/09)

10.03.09

> > >Posted by

This was a “re-play” of last saturday’s game which was cancelled due to the bad weather.

In contrast, the weather was great with the sun blazing and players excited about the upcoming game..Supporters came to give their support to their team and to encourage them to go for glory.

As the match started off, It was 11 Schwarzians against 8 Rebels..a numerical advantage to the Schwarzians.. With majority of possession by the Schwarzians, it was a matter of time before the deadlock was broken..A teasing cross was swung in by Farhan and met by Azam whom connected well with a thumping header to give a 1-0 lead. With Rebels packing their goalmouth, Schwarzians were lacking the penetration and a sense of complacency was in the air. A last ditch tackle by Razmy presented Rebels a brilliant chance on the edge of the box..The resultant free-kick just glance the Schwarzian top right corner goal-post..a warning to the Schwarzians.

The 2nd half started as the same with 1 way directional traffic and Kevin was playing as a right winger. A pass from centre midfield gave Kevin the opportunity to wreck havoc..A simple cut in and Kevin was through on goal and with the Schwarzian supporters now on their feet…did a simple postioning of the goal with his left foot and 2-0 to the Schwarzians.Cheers erupted from the supporters end. With the added goal..the Schwarzians finally became free from their shackles and started raining shots on the Rebels goal..with Crhis/Farhan/Razmy/Faishah all taking shots..Kevin had an opportunity to add another goal to his tally when his shot clipped the bar of the Rebels goalpost

At the end..Siva drove the final nail when he connected with the cross from the left wing for a simple tap-in..Final Score 3-0 to Schwarz Star FC..which brings them up to 2nd place in the table..and if results go their way(pending on the result from Happy Feet FC vs ISCOS)..it would mean top of the table for the Schwarzians.
